Reducing Processes with HijackThis
You need to stop the unnessesary processes from running in the background. Windows always goes the same speed.
I realise that we are always talking about speeding it up but strickly speaking we really mean give it less to do so it has more time for you.
The end result is it feels like your computer speeds up. The way Windows manages to do many things at once is an ellusion.
It does what they call time-slicing. It is a process of dividing up its time like a juggler does with balls in the air.
This one is a little bit dangerous and I hesitate writing it down. I have settled on making sure you understand the risk and leaving it up to you.
Open up Hijack This .
Click the "Do a System Scan" button.
After a couple of seconds you will see a list of processes that start up when your computer starts up.
Check the ones you dont need.
Then click the "Fix Checked" button.
This wont stop these processes working when needed, just stop them starting up when you boot up your computer.
You will then be prompted to restart your computer for the result to be efective.
